Slow Firestick

Fix slow Firestick performance.

Clear App Cache​

  1. Settings → Applications
  2. Manage Installed Applications
  3. Select each app
  4. Clear cache

Remove Unused Apps​

  1. Settings → Applications
  2. Manage Installed Applications
  3. Select app
  4. Uninstall

Restart Firestick​

  1. Settings → My Fire TV
  2. Restart
  3. Or unplug for 30 seconds

Disable Background Apps​

  1. Settings → Applications
  2. Manage Installed Applications
  3. Select app
  4. Force stop

Check Storage​

  1. Settings → My Fire TV
  2. About
  3. Storage
  4. Delete files if low on space

Factory Reset​

Last resort only:

  1. Settings → My Fire TV
  2. Reset to Factory Defaults
  3. This deletes everything

Still Slow?​

Your Firestick may be too old. Consider upgrading to Firestick 4K or 4K Max.
